long day.

long day and lots of things to blog abt.

chronologically.

yesterday night. bursary night. my last chance to wear sch u. after i put it on, i was in this total high mood that usually occurs when im in sch. it's like, yay sch u!! i was like this over active kid among all the kids who were queueing for the bursary. there were quite a few aj kids, a few njs and a few hcs. and guess who i saw, wanyan!! haha. i mean, the last time that i met her during bursary was like in pri sch? haha. and she was queueing in the same row as me!! haha. so we sat down and chat and chat away while our minister was giving his speech, totally ignoring him though i really like my mps. then i started talking to anyone i knew there. it was like, i dunno, i was like in a total high mood and i guess it had to do with my sch u and my supressed feeling over not getting a job and then to get one that i dont truly enjoy doing.

fast forward to this morning. slept at 2am in the night and had to pull myself out of the bed to go to ica. had to change my passport photo before the trip to penang during cny becos the last time i went to malaysia, the guy at the immigration counter was like staring at the photo on my passport and very sure that the photo wasnt me. in the end he let me thru after growling 'change ur photo'. so yup. change of photo. went down to lavender, queued up to take photos. and i had to use water to wet my fringe to plaster it properly on my head becos in 'passport photos, hair cannot touch eyebrow'. errr. and then to spend another 15min at the counter for a change of photo.

when they said 'change of photos', i really tot they meant by changing the photo on the particulars page of ur passport. but nope. the lady (but she was nice) used glue, stuck my photo on this random page in my passport, placed a chop on it and tada, it was done. wah biang. waste my time. and i guess the guy at the immigration counter wont even bother flipping to the page to look at my picture.

and so it was time for national library!! highlight of the day. talk: Crime -- The Dark Side of Asian Cinema

IMG_0151
remember some ago i went for the engineering fiesta competition and that we were led to this vip rm at the national lib? the super cool place.

yup. today's the second time i could go up. but for another reason.

hahahahaha. u can say 'chey' if u wan.

after the u-weekly article i wasnt really keen of going down to see him(and to decide i shall not like him anymore. humph.). but again, it may be a once in a lifetime thing. so i made felicia and yueyun sign up with me for the talk. so i was happily anticipating that 3 of us shall go this talk which i presume not many people will want to go and to listen to him scold the media or sth like that. but...... felicia had to meet her job agent at the last minute and yueyun woke up very late that she missed the registration time. hais. alone.

i guess since it was held at the national library, they had to make it look like an educational talk by some golden horse winner to inspire little kids like us to join the film industry. but it was a total francis ng fan meeting session in disguise lah. everyone brought camera except me. hais. and so i struggled with my k700i, the only gadget i brought there. there were quite a few aunties *ahem* ladies in the thirties and some other kids who looked like my age.

and gosh there are people who turned up for the event. the host (danny yeo) said there were around 180 people in the rm, and many more who could not come in and stuck at the first level(it was true yue yun told me cos she was stuck with the bunch 'who could not come in'. yue yun saw this really farnee incident btw this auntie and security guard. more on the auntie later) and yesh. us. the lucky ones. (and i got myself a sofa chair. shiok or wat)

while waiting for the man to arrive. i was busily keeping myself busy since everyone else seemed to have gotten a friend or two with them. i was furiously sms-ing everyone to keep a lookout for francis ng's newspaper articles for me, and at the same time amusing myself with the dhl balloon outside.

there was a huge yellow AA dhl balloon in the middle of the city. hahahaha. and it kept going up down up down up down up down.

and also, eyeing the people around who seemed to have a copy of 'today' each.

so finally francis ng came. woo. he is really much better looking in person.

eh. this is the best i could get out of my k700i. hais. if u think u see who u see. yesh. u see him.

from how anathony wong described him, i tot he was going to be mean. as in his words are very 毒 lah. but he was okay. if fact, he was quite nice wah. haha. couldnt rmb the whole interview but there were some parts that were quite 经典. (very very loosely translated)

first, his jokes on dear indie friends.

someone asked him like if hk doesnt produce mafia cop genre films, then what he think hk can do lah?
and his answer was 'a lot of people ask us why hongkong only make triad films. then why the indians everyday only dance?' and he started making some bollywood music and bollywood dance actions. hahahaha. omg.

and then he said that singaporeans are very white, becos we dun come across crimes that often and most likely we wont become part of a triad. so he was like 'singaporeans are very white. we, hongkongers are very black. like indians like that, very black.' wah biang. hahaha. then he tried to undo what he did by saying 'cos india a lot of dust.' hahahaha. (apparently he was at india like the day before to film some new movie. he said that when danny yeo asked how long he was in spore)

second, his buay hiao bai-ness. but it was quite funny also.

someone asked him out of so many roles he acted before, which role is most similar to him. and his answer was 'of course the one in 衝上雲霄 lah!!' and he started laughing in the 'joking joking' way.

then another asked him that since he had acted as so many diff kind of roles before, issit difficult for him? and he answered 'actually very easy.... becos i think i am very 变态'(and then to continue bursting in laughter) cos he said there was once he had 3 scripts on his hand and he could go thru all 3 tgt and still knew how to act as the 3 diff characters lah.

and there was this time he was talking excitedly abt his role in 衝上雲霄. i think he decided on that hair himself cos he said he wanted to look like a pilot and he tot that hair will make him look like a pilot. then after the day he cut that hair, all the senior actors started scolding him. but when he went to australia to train for the show, at the last day one of the trainers from aus told him 'my girlfriend want me to cut my hair like urs. cos she say like that then will look like pilot' hahaha. and he was commenting that takuya kimura in 'good luck', hair so long still can act as pilot. haha.

and there were quite a lot of questions on what he hope to do ah, if he direct what kind of shows he will direct.

and he said he wanted to act as a orchestra conductor. hahaha. cos he likes how the conductor moves his body in a very beautiful way. but the punchline comes from his last line 'but when i told my boss this, he said 'wont earn money one'.' hahaha.

and then of course on acting with sporeans lah.

he said something like spore is not a good place to film triad, mafia kind of show cos no one here have the experience. then he started talking abt the time he was filming then he talked to the people acting as traid members. so he called one and asked what they did in real life lah and that guy told him that he was an orchestral conductor. hahaha. so he approached another guy, that guy was a dancer. so he was quite shocked 'really ah? those back row one?' 'no lah. front row one' and then he tot 'oh. nvm. dance keep moving. wont see his face.' wah biang. hahaha. and then he approached another guy,a quite macho guy. so he asked 'u so macho, are u a 舞男?' and the guy replied 'no. i am a writer for magazines.' hahaha.

and he kept talking abt this movie he liked a lot called '再见萤火虫'. an anime kind of movie. wiki it and i found it's a 1988 movie. hahaha. as old as me. he said that he will cry everytime he watch. he watched once in the cinema with his sisters, and since he was like the older brother who doesnt cry one, he kept sitting backwards to hide and cry. haha.

oh no. i think i wrote too much. but yah. it was quite interesting to go look at him as a real person. at the start of the interview i kept looking at his way too uncool socks. haha. he wore like jeans (with holes somemore) some tee and jacket, for a 40plus year old uncle quite hip leh. but he wore at the same time purple(!!) new balance running shoe and carried this quite uncool black backpack. and gosh. the socks. hahaha. it's like those socks we wear in pri sch that rests peacefully 3cm above our ankle and then his was like thin thin kind with flowerly pattern on it. hahaha.

shall talk abt the auntie i left off some paragraphs ago. yueyun said there was this auntie who was really desperate to go up and see francis ng. she said the auntie was pleading the security guard to let her go up and stand behind the door, she dun wan to sit, jus want to see him. then she started saying like she needed to wait to buy newspaper this morning and then to fetch her son to sch. but.... she actually called francis ng 'allan wu' huh? allan wu? hahaha. the spore wu-zhen-yu. haha. and yueyun said the auntie called francis ng aka allan wu like how she call her husband. hahaha.

and talking abt calling him like a husband. i saw this girl also. i think slightly older than me. cos he had to take the lift down and so we could see him really really up close and this girl started calling out in this very weak seductive way 'francis~ francis~ bye bye~' hahahaha. omg. like call husband like that.

and after the whole thing i went down to meet yueyun and felicia and walked to have our lunch. hahaha. ever since we have to endure the pains of paying adult fares, we are like walking whenever we could. walked to sunshine plaza to eat this famous wanton mee. but not nice one.

and then to si ma lu to light some jossticks since we were there. and then back to bugis junction before walking to suntec. haha. shopped around, before going over to paradiz centre(by walking).

we were at paradiz centre to... watch live 4D draw. hahaha. cos it was something only 18s and above can do(apart from smoking, drinking and clubbing). it was so boring lah. and so many uncles came down to watch. we were going to sleep when they were halfway thru the starters. haha.

*update 12.35am*
finished reading the today article. haha. i like how the reporter described the way he answered his questions "in Cantonese-inflected Mandarin, with the odd English phrase thrown in"
