finally. i finished this series. even since i started the first ep, i think around 6mths had past. wow. hahahaha. i took half a yr to finish this show lah. not that it's bad, but becos the first few eps really turned me off, and i only picked it up again last mth.

the ending was good lah. it's not a typical all well ends well ending, it sort of leave a bitter feeling, overall a good ending though.


michael miu. my second michael miu series. do u think his voice is very weird? it's like as if something got stuck in his throat. or that he has a permenent sore thorat. hahahaha.


bosco wong. was watching heart of greed at the same time. impressive. at least i didnt mistake him with gilbert in hog.



work ended yesterday. and most probably im not going to get another till my intern in uni. enough. very sick of working life. haha. learnt a lot. a whole lot. but the more i learn abt working, the more im not looking forward to the actual one after uni life.

watched thirteen with felicia yesterday. after work ended. woah. nice. i didnt catch eleven, watched half of twelve and i could still get it.

eh. it's not a comedy so no big laughs like 'men in white' but more of small chuckles here and there. some like the running 'oprah' gag. hahaha. if u have watched the trailer there's this part where brad pitt went to find george clooney, who was in his room. and when georgeC came out he was tearing and bradP had this question mark look on his face. so gerogeC said that he bite on a pepper. and bradP suddenly heard the tv in his room and went 'Is that... are you... are you watching.. Oprah?' that part was super funny. bradP then went into his room and watched oprah with him. hahahaha. and the oprah joke didnt jus end there. it came out a second time near the end. hahaha.

eleven was more on robbing the bank vault, twelve's aim was to steal and thirteen was more of cheating casino money. the things they do are super unrealistic but at the same time so funny that you dun have time to think if they were.

there's a hell lot of references to the godfather trilogy but i havent watched the trilogy yet. so. hais.

and i liked this more than pirates3, maybe becos i didnt get the jokes in pirates3 (i have this higly intellectual friend who told me pritaes3 was vrey funny but i didnt find it so!!) how the gang of them try to make everyone win money in the casino, how they try to screw up the security system, how they made this earthquake, how they edited the photos in the FBI files, how they made the 5diamonds guy suffer. hahahahaha.

cheeesy shows for the cheesy people. maybe i shd jus indulge myself in these 偶像劇s on swimming, fencing and volleyball and family and school and friends and.. stuff. and maybe get some of my youth back. hais. and to faster finish my casino show. 3 more eps!!

i wanna play poker. hahahaha. it turns out much more addictive than what i perceived it to be at first. u noe when we were young there were always this series of god of gamblers movies by stephen chow. and all he does all day is to accumulate karma and a hell lot of cheating is involved to play the game. so all along i tot poker is jus a boring game and it gets interesting only if u can get a royal flush (but who can get that anyway? must have accumulated a lot a lot of karma.)

but it turns out to be a game of wits. woo. and there are a hell lot of variations. the one we normally see on hk movies is the five stud poker (or maybe the poker people normally play in movies) but there are many others lah, some which works like mahjong also.

wanna play poker with me? it's fine with me if u wanna play baccarat or blackjack. cos they are quite fun too. hahaha. i better go get my dad to write my name in the ban from IR list.

mediacorp are far better at making ads/trailers as compared to making the dramas themselves. kudos to those who made the split second trailers.. they are so good lah!! and the songs from the series of split second trailers.

so. the PQ part wasnt that exciting after all. first, my cca part. mrWTH didnt change anything. seriously. not a single word. he jus place everything i wrote for him into my cca part. and cip is even worse. there is only 3 lines. i think i wrote 4 lines and the teacher, changed the last line, which became jus 3 lines. shit.

but. the pq part by form teacher is not bad. and since it was written my gplow lah. and having a gp teacher as a form teacher has its perks. it was one page long, woah. she retained the info but restructured the sentences lah.

but SGC was still rather disappointing. it was like 'hey. chey. sigh.' kind of thing. i hope no one wans to see my SGC in the future. seriously.

u noe how when u are on the train, everyone seems to be holding this tiny gadget on their hands and twirling their thumbs in a circular motion - it seems like everyone in spore owns one ipod or two.. or more.

however it doesnt seem that many for portable gaming device and most of the times u will see either malay boys holding psp or little kids playing with dslite/gba.

but that time when we went hk (which was also the time i was seriously pondering whether to spend another 300bucks for a psp), there were so many people holding on to one portable gaming device on the train. say in one tiny compartment there's around 20 people, there would be around 6 who are either holding on to a psp/dslite. and it's not jus the malayboys/kids who are playing with them. there were men in suits and OLs too. woah. how cool is that. hahaahahah.


okay. so life goes on. from tmr onwards, felicia and me will be transfered over to wisma. cos the work at taka is almost done, so we are off to do price tagging for another outlet.

and.... i lost my taka pass today. and to only realise it during lunch. it's 20bucks and maybe a big scolding from the security guard for that lost pass. so during lunch i went down to the security counter to tell the security woman that i lost my pass lah. and she was so calm,

'u lost ur pass ah? number 14? u go find first, later if we find it we will tell u.'

so felicia and me went off for lunch and went back to MB after lunch to find the pass. searched high and low and through all the cheongsams and still cant find it. was abt to draw 20bucks out le to pay for my lost pass.

but somehow i forgot to draw the money and went straight down to the security counter after work. so the security later was like,

'found it? where u lost it?'

then i was like 'no. dunno where i lost it.'

and suddenly she said, 'see lah. play play play.' and took out my pass from her tiny lost and found box. wah lau eh. i bet she found it even before lunch. she jus wan felicia and me to go search high and low for it lah. wah biang.

and there are more people than i expected who went to watch men in white. hahahaha. i like that movie!! at least more than how i felt towards pirates3(maybe becos i didnt catch the ball). felicia is trying very hard to convince yueting to watch since it was still a 'ghost' movie. so that day yueting was asking,

oh. right after that roger-kwok-call-father-with-that-huge-大哥大 show, the new 10pm slot drama coming up is split second. yay. jus what i was going to watch lah. there's a lot of paradoies in the show based on movies. like infernal affairs and running out of time. and i heard the first scene is an exact replica of PTU's first scene, but i didnt watch PTU. another thing. the show ahs 30ep and each ep represents a day. heh heh. sounds like 迷離20天 har.. so mediacorp is not so creative afterall. chey. but 'split sceond' was a huge flop in hk lah, despite the cast lah.(alex fong (方中信, not 方力申), patrick tam, moses chan, kevin cheng and lai lok yi)

i really feel like slapping these parents. hello? ur son/daughter is already 19 now (or even older) and with 4As for his/her exams, he/she cant even write to nus or the forum directly? please lah. let me tell u. the reason ur son/daughter cant get into the course they wan is becos they themselves cant even do such a simple thing as to ask around why they cant get in.

first. the parent with a son with a band3 in pw. 'oh. oh. my son has 4As and distinctions in S papers. he so have the potential to be a good doctor.' wtf. if ur son gets a band3 in pw is either becos he has certainly no interest in this subject deemed as useless or becos he is never a team player. can u see auntie? a friend of mine, who doesnt have such a good grade, could get an interview for nursing and to ultimately get into nursing becos at least she bothers to do her pw homework auntie. and i spend around 15min a day to do pw and i can still get a band1 auntie. wah lau eh.

and.. S papers do not count towards the university admission score. hello? nus reminded us once and again abt this. S paper does not count. and so what if u have a distinction. i dun study. i play computer. i watch tvb. and i still get distinction for my S paper. what's so cool abt getting distinction? it's like scoring 160 for IQ. so? and if for every A a sporean student gets equals to a one dollar coin thrown into the sea, i bet we can reclaim our land all the way till we merge with jb. it's that many.

i have almost the same grade as the first guy other than that i got one disinction less but i dun even think what i got was anything near maginificent. maybe it's a reasonable grade taking into account that i at least attended almost all of my tutorials. but still. i think that grade is jus mah-mah lor. i dun even dare to confirm that i can get my first choice which is like er engin and u think u can confirm go pharmacy?

and stop being a sore loser lah. and i bet u dun even noe whether ur kids truly wan to get into the doctor course. and doctors unlike studying a course like business, is a lifelong thing. u sure he wan anot har?


ahhhh.

okay. back from my 11 consecutive days to working. seriously. wah. but it didnt seem as tiring though. but i seriously spend too little time at home. i leave hse at around 8am everyday and to come home at around 9pm and for 4 days 12plus becos of the apple roadshow. so tues wed chomel work. thu to sun roadshow at marina sq selling apple stuff. and mon to fri again at chomel. hahahaha. it's real fun to work in madame butterfly, i hope they dun transfer felicia and me away. our job scope is jus pasting stickers at chomel. hahahha. to help with the price tagging to sound professional, but it's jus sticker pasting.

at the apple show it was quite untolerable on the first day but eventually it got better (maybe becos i developed better thigh muscles on the way) as i blogged previously, didnt sell a lot but i tot it was not too bad lah. played around with mac and got much more familiar with them. and thoroughly sick of ipods. tested my wireless@sg account and it was working perfectly fine. met many different kind of people. became a better sweet talker and of course made new friends.

at chomel we didnt get to interact as much, but the madame butterfly people are so so so cheerful. they seem to love their job a lot. maybe that's how our service sector shd be. we touched a whole lot of jade and pearls. and er bahjus. hahahahaha.

so now i can differentiate btw different jewellery, noe abt the stuff in apple, can scoop ice cream, can process invoice, noe how a puslisher work, noe how to operate pasar malam rides and to bring a bunch of 20 P3 kids around esplanade for tours. maybe the most useful 8mths i have ever spent in my life. and of course to take so many flights in a few days and to come to know taiwan and hk.

sch's gonna start in around 2mths time. and in btw there would be like registration for this and that. camps. and body check-up. and maybe i need some brain warmup becos they haven been moving for quite some time.

update on what i watched. hahahaa. ep 22 for heart of greed and 22 for dicey business. ep1 for on the first beat.

on the first beat is definitely a very very differently kind of show to academy. the story continues from the academy and pak kiu and ah man has already graduated from PTS. the academy was like a 温馨小品 and on the first beat tries too hard to act like a blockbuster. some caps. (okay lah. after finishing ep2 i take back my words. on the first beat is as good. hahahaha. ep2 was damn shiok to watch. and that lee pak kiu is really the centre of broom, everyone around him is dying.)

heart of greed is really good at making u feel unworthy for the tong family(like how 监狱风云 is for chowyunfatt). the villans are so 不要脸 that u feel like killing them. cos now i dun have much time to stay in front of the computer to finish off the shows so i actually finish them off on the train while going for work (as suggest by ms jasminelee), i feel like boxing the people in the show right there in the train cabin.

like kao fu bo, he's constantly finding ways to get quick cash and 好吃懒做. he caused his sister to be constantly in debt and didnt care abt the family.

i dunno whether she 心理不平衡 or what but she is forever finding ways to do something bad to the family and to get some money out of it. forever u noe. ever since like ep2 she's been causing the tides and waves in the family. it's not that she's ill-treated or what. and i dun think she needs so much money. she's jus 心理不平衡 she's the 2nd wife, no status. wah biang. 20yrs ago she pleaded the first wife to let her marry into the family, and 20yrs later she's 煽风点火-ing.

6. tavia's family.



they are literally fa qin hon(发钱疯). the mother got tavia to marry her first husband becos he's rich and now they are trying to dig the tong's family gold mine. once and again she uses her digusting way to whine some money out from the tong family. they plead they threaten. they are getting money from the tong family and still talk so much.


nothing much for dicey business though. it's a good show. i dunno whether it's me or something but somehow how michael miu's character is moving resembles too much of andylau's character in infernal affairs. the i-dun-wan-to-be-a-bad-person-but-becos-of-a-污点-in-life-he-dug-a-deeper-and-deeper-hole-for-himself scenario. but all he wants is to a good guy. eh. infernal affairs right?


woah. this entry is getting really long. last one. i watched 鬼啊鬼啊 already. turned out to be better than i expected. and yesh, it's a comedy. a very stupid one indeed. it has a very high entertainment value. the show's mostly in hokkein and canto, which kinda shocked me cos i tot the govt was all along against dialects. solid cast, nice script. worth ur time.
