you know there are this kind of flies that will come to your house when it is raining, i have now 4 of them in my room. earlier now there were only 2 so i killed them, disposed off their bodies. and now there are 4 at the exact same spot.
js paper tmr. but im still in the midst of revising. at pompoko now. it has the worse reading and lecture slides that lead to nowhere. and i think i look like a tanuki that has changed into human form for too long.
i dunno when this started [there are some who blogged abt this since 22nov] but i just realised youtube has gone 16;9!! yay!! actually when i first saw the widescreen i was still quite worried that those 16:9 uploaded previously will have both black bars on the sides and the top and bottom of the video. like a shrunk 16:9. but nope. those that are uploaded as 16:9 will show as 16:9!!
and this is in 16:9 too. actually i didnt want to blog abt this since a lot of people should have blogged abt this la. but since yesterday i've been listening to their rap for 10 over times. dope la. hahahaha.
nice. especially when they got some of the lines straight from MR and changed the words. the lam fung line, the charmanine sheh and kelvin cheng line, the ha yu line, the liza wang and the sonjia one. 勁!!
i really think the mediacorp people eavesdrops on me every now and then. haha. okay okay. they are filming a new drama that is on engineers!! hahahahaha. i was still complaining a while back about why there isnt a drama on engineers. you know there are dramas on doctors, on firemen, on policemen, on mooncake makers. there isnt one on engineers.
and yes. they are going to make one. after the previous keppel-ice man-cycling one, which i guess has cheated a lot of young girls to go into civil, they are making another one this year. and they are coming to engin to film.
check out iweekly this wk because they devoted to around 3 pages on this new drama. and of course dawnYeoh going to oschool to learn how to dance. you know. engineers are hip la.
new minor this year. pre-requisite gek1542. i feel like doing that but i'm not too good in that area. will borrow the notes from jasmine to see how is it first.
i am one of those who cringe at the idea of a channel8 anniversary gala. why copy tvb? esp when the gossip section of u-weekly talks abt like why are we copying the blue-red-green tv station to do 台慶, im those who will nod without even thinking.
but i guess i was wrong. the anniversary gala turned out to be so much better. the previous time they did one, i tot they tried a little too hard to deliver that nostalgia. like repeatedly playing the clips from 霧鎖南洋. but this time round i think they really put in some effort to see how they can present the past 45 years of tv to everyone.
and our national tv is already 45? that makes us even older than tvb. i didnt know this. our tv is so much like hongkong tv. during the 90s, our directors are from hongkong, our producers are from hongkong, isnt it strange that our dear channel8 is older than tvb?
it's nice to see them presenting the tv artistes in batches. especially when they got the bunch from the 1999 star search together. nick shen, vivian lai, qi yu wu, priscilla chan, jeff wang.. it was the time when star search was really an IN thing and i was sitting right in front of the tv on the finals to see who will win. and they got thomasOng too. hahahaha. yay.
and it's quite surprising to see that actually we have such a big bunch of people in mediacorp. esp after watching the tvb one yesterday. we are also as strong loh. maybe we can try getting the bunch of them here to dance for the opening other than just walking out and looking good. hahahahaha. we lack that celebration feel. maybe zoeTay and fannWong can come out singing some 'i love channel8' song. like the 一於去齊聲恭祝TVB song. and then have our mediacorp ceo come out with ms singapore. hahahaha. nice.
and the youtube video on top is 周璇's 永遠的微笑. i love it ever since watching election. there was this part during the gala when they showed 4 comedians who had past away, they started off with 蔡琴's 被遺忘的時光 and just when i was thinking 'not again..', they changed the background music to an instrumental version of 永遠的微笑. whoever thought of that, nice one.
on the other hand. watched TVB awards yesterday. i esp liked the part where they got the actors to enter in groups from 2 to 4 and to give a one-liner. like raymond lam's 'if i win today, i guess i have a lot of meals to..treat.' hahahahaha. nice. and wayne lai's 'i am 白果王[the one who always do not win]'.
萬千星輝頒獎典禮2008-最佳男配角--黎耀祥
but wayne lai won. 白果王 no more!! this is so overdued. even as 連子蓉 in MR, he is good. he is good in Steps, in Devil's Disciple, in When rules turn loose.. the most deserving award for this year's TVB awards. ha yu deserves his best actor too, but seeing him win is like seeing Martin Scorsese win academy award becase of Departed. yes. ha yu deserves it. but i think it should not be because of moonlight resonance but for when rules turn loose. and next year should be raymond cho's turn. raymond cho. without him, healing hands and forensic heroes would have been much more boring.
Mr.Children/花の匂い(Live ver.) 僕らの音楽
theme song for 「私は貝になりたい」. if 2216 is going to there for another 10 years. this might become one of the films for the course.
This has to be the best inside/hongkong joke from Forensic Heroes. Currently channel u's showing part 1 wkdays 10pm but i couldnt resist and came on to watch forensic heroes 2. and also putting down moonlight resonance which i'm left with only 9 episodes. haha. even eunice has finished MR. for FH, not that i dont want to watch 1, but there's abundance of 2 online but 1 is so difficult to find. so i guess i shall just watch the Mandarin dubbed one on tv. but it's better this way so i wont confuse myself with the cases.
okay. back to the best inside/hongkong joke from FH2. u have to watch how kelvin cheng and bobby laughing non-stop after sam talked abt the 1:99 bleach.
i have to admit i didnt know what were they were laughing abt. wat's so funny abt bleach? (yes, the colourless liquid u use with ur clothes) so i went to google and found some others who were puzzled over this inside joke.
this is an ad from the hongkong government after the SARS period to remind the people of personal cleanliness. a little like our dengue ads over here. and the gambling will ruin your life ads.
and the slogan is "一比九十九 清潔好幫手". apparently, it was this special ratio which u shd use when mixing water and bleach.it is mild enough to clean your house and yet will kill all the SARS bacteria. and they played so often on tv, that it sort of got into our dear hongkong friends and started making fun of it. quoting this other guy "现在引伸为用来洗不干净的东西,如口臭。"
so for this scene, there is this guy who was angry with his neighbour and threw rubbish at her door. so they scolded him la and wanted him to clean up the place. with Dr.Koo adding 'Ah, Mr 廖, remember to use 1:99 bleach".
and now i know why the series of short films from hongkong during the SARS period is called 1:99 電影行動. i love this series of films, they are made by some of the really good directors in hongkong. like this one is from stephen chow. there was also the 1:99 音樂會 during the SARS period. these can be found on youtube too la.
okay.need to mug. after exams it's gonna be more tvb. yay. love their new hd format and 16:9 ratio. always loved japanese drama because the file size is always small but the quality is always good. and now tvb has joined them too.
jack wu from episode 3. he appeared in FH1 la. i remember him as the throw brick guy. and now he's here again. like lack of continuity? haha. and i read from wiki that FH2 has lai lok yi also. ahh.lack of continuity la. people complain the bad guy from 'the academy' reappeared in 'on the first beat'. please la. forensic heroes have even more la.
charles szeto from episode 2. haha. another bad thing abt hongkong films is that u can recognise all the calefares, small characters or famous actors cameoing. so i guessed he was the killer before i knew anything. because he is charles szeto la.
NGs from FH2. haha. bobby is still bobby.super funny.
i think another thing i like a lot abt FH is the cast. without the regular dose of lam fung ah, ron ng ah, michael miu ah. u know those who will confirm appear in blockbuster of the year kind of actors. FH feels really fresh. they use quite a lot of new actors and those actors that held supporting roles to do something bigger. eddie li and oscar leung as part of the CID team, frankie lam to lead, florence kwok, matthew ko and raymond cho [i love him as much as wayne lai]. so when they included kelvin cheng and charmaine sheh into part2 i was a little disappointed. yawn. big leads.
